3rd NKD/NHD! I was doing some grocery shopping today and I got a notification that this knife arrived today so I picked it up at my local Post Office and get rid of the Magnolia handle and put a better one. Hitohira Tanaka x Ren White 2 240mm Gyuto with Curly Black Rosewood, Buffalo Horn and Nickel Silver Ring.

He is not a full-time knife maker. If you get in his books, you need a lot of nerves.
He responds very rarely. You often don't know where you are with him. I am glad that I now have 2 knives from him. It is still a Hollow Cleaver in Machen from Zwear. The starting material is 8.5mm. Many people decided to leave this forum for several reasons.
 
Sakai Sasuke yanagiba -- the Sakai scissor blacksmith. Not sure if forged by them actually, but the choil style is a bit different than other yanagiba I've seen from Sakai. Steel feels similarly hard and bitey like other yanagiba from the older generation. Old gen hard Sakai knives -- not glassy hard but like fine compenents hard, still abradable. Just the slightest bit different though. Stamped in the ura sakai Sasuke too -- old style Sakai knives had these small almost unreadable stamps on the ura. The kurouchi on the choil is also more pasty or matte from age on old knives. Probably the older generation sakai blacksmith, but the sharpener is definitely someone else from Sakai

The price on his website seems to be in AUD, but it doesn’t change to USD when I enter my address or are the prices in USD. Just curious.
Yeah his pricing on The website are in Australian but they do change to USD when you buy them. Honestly his prices are really cheap. Once they go to USD we finally get a decent exchange rate. If you message him on Instagram, he can send you an invoice that will convert to USD
