Climbed those stairs decades ago with a couple coworkers. Some idiots erected a swing at the summit in recent years. Tourist swing out over almost 2,000 foot drop & plaster it all over social media that's how officials found out.
which trail(s) did you hike up? Need to add this to my listThis trail was made in 1950's along the steep cliffs of Koolau. The paved stones are carriage trail from 1850's before that was Hawaiian foot trail. First time I've seen it. Was beautiful morning mist & some rain came afternoon.

It's known as Likeke. Look it up on Alltrails. Tailhead starts near Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens visitor center. We carpooled had some cars at end of hike. Drove back to Ho'omaluhia.which trail(s) did you hike up? Need to add this to my list
Appreciate this. Sharing the beautiful spots is the nearest thing to experiencing the trip ourselves. Thanks.
darn definitely want to visit. Fairytale like
Highly recommend, it's been lovely so far. Reminds me of North Carolina a lot honestly. Almost everyone speaks English and there's some minerals in the water to give it that instagram-filter looking blue-green. Lots of swimming holes all around, though too cold for that right now.darn definitely want to visit. Fairytale like
Right now, there are very few people it's awesome but it's still a little chilly so the crowds a mellow.Croatia used to be a Lonely Planet secret spot that just exploded. Good for them. How is the tourist crowd situation there?
Samsung Galaxy S23@SwampDonkey Man, those are incredible cell phone pics. I didn't realize cell phone cameras can be that good. Which one do you have?
I remember when you were planning this trip Oct. 2023. Keep the pictures comming so we can enjoy your views too.Samsung Galaxy S23
I've preferred their cameras to iPhones since about 2018. I had a Nikon d3500 but fell down a waterfall with it in a hip pack and smashed it lol, so we're phone camera life for a while.
On that note! Hit Plitvice Lakes National Park today...oh my gawd, the hype is 100% justified. We drive down to the coast tomorrow so I'll stop spamming this thread so much but today:

What a beautiful place! But I bet it gets really spooky at nightAnd this past weekend I passed by some ancient and historically interesting places in my neck of the woods in Sweden.
First the Rök stone, the oldest Swedish longer text ever found. If you consider it longer, and Swedish...

And beautiful surroundings, this is the allée leading to a farm, with the local moutain Omberg in the background.

Then I went a bit further northwest to a small village called Nässja where there is a very ancient stone circle with a tree in the middle:

This stone circle is actually so big, it is an example of a large circle on the english language wikipedia page:
