I'm new at all of this (knives, cutting boards, even good cookware), and I figured that as long as I had succumbed to the lure of nice kitchen knives, i should get a good cutting board to replace the one that I had bought on Amazon years ago.
I wind up with this: http://www.theboardsmith.com/product/carolina-slab-16x22-walnut/ and found John's help and communication to be exemplary. Oh yeah - and the cutting board is so nice. I'm not an expert in these things, obviously, but I found myself, for the first few days, sneaking into the kitchen just to touch it....
