Instant Pot vs Stovetop Pressure Cooker

Has anybody tested both in parallel and did form an opinion between a stovetop pressure cooker and an instant pot? Mainly I want to cook beans, since I fell in love with the book 'Cool Beans'. I am currious about the set it and forget it nature of the Instant pot. I have a rice cooker and...

Short Comparisson/Review between Benriner BN-95 and Swissmar Borner V5

As I was having a closer look on my borner I also had a closer look at the blades. As I can't edit the original post I'll append here what I've found. Although these are more interesting technical features that shouldn't play to much of a role when deciding which of the mandolines to get. (1)...

Short Comparisson/Review between Benriner BN-95 and Swissmar Borner V5

@MarcelNL @Justinv I rather should have written that it can be questioned how many people outside of this wonderfull community really sharpen their blades. Especially since there is no contact with a cutting board the wear on the blade is much lower, then with a kitchen knife.

Short Comparisson/Review between Benriner BN-95 and Swissmar Borner V5

Yes, I do use both hand guards. In short, the borner feels safer and I like it a lot. The benriner works only on the last piece of vegetable. But in this role it gives you a smaller remaining piece of vegetable that is leftover and works better overall. The long answer, as I can't edit the...

Short Comparisson/Review between Benriner BN-95 and Swissmar Borner V5

A few years back, when I wanted to buy a mandoline slicer I got a Swissmar Borner V5/Börner V5, because my mother had a Börner V3 and was very happy with the model even after years of use. A week ago I decided to get a Benriner Mandoline because it has the ability to cut very thin slices. Since...

The "Let's Talk About This Knife" Thread.

Have you already seen this report about a knife with hollow-grind? The Hollow The guy ordered a custom knife with a rather thick geometry that is still easily cutting. He explaines some of the factors that were important for the design of the overall geometry. For me this knife looks awesome...

I didn't have the need to refresh these stones, as I have them for a month or so. I really enjoy the arkansas as well the spyderco stones. For a long time I avoided sharpening on a stone because of the process of drying the stone. Both these stones are an excellent solution for fast touchups on...

I never had any problems. If you turn on the machine it starts with its minimum speed of 0,6 kilometers per hour. I usually have at least one hand on my desk. So I have a very direct feedback if I am mooving to fast or to slow. Please note that this treadmill is not meant to raise your...

    Robert Herder K5 & K6 mini-review

@Jovidah I feel you. The prices are rising constantly for these knives. Even a year ago you could get them significantly cheaper. More and more we are coming to a point where you'd have to think twice if they are realy worth their money. Especially considering the situation that in germany...
