    I made me a Nakiri

That is beautiful. I’ve only seen some very beautiful grey colour ways at the shop. But now I’m on the hunt 😂

And I actually was fiddling with some heavier bog oak the other day at my local wood pusher - so very much agree. There really is quite some variation and that is after all only “natural” get it… da joke 😂 (I’ll see my self out)

The bog oak I get isn’t as dense as yours looks. Interesting. But a lovely piece of wood to work with

What if you can only have one KU knife

Maybe Morihei Hisamoto. (I’m thinking of the no bolster version) But you are looking for more expensive knives, right?

Show your work! Uchigumori and co...

Here’s a fast job on a Heldqvist kiri from this nights stone-run. Very cool details in the cladding. Finished on a Aizu because I really don’t care much about a great polish, I just want a sharp knife 😂

Could you finish finer than this? Seems pretty scratchy 🫣 (sorry)

That’s tight like a tiger! Lovely job. Is the bog oak stabilised? Sorry if you’ve mentioned it above.

Bump. We need to focus on this

    The knife abstinence thread

Well… nobody wants to sell me a Watanabe Pro 240 gyuto - so it looks like I’m here to stay. And I have to make like ten new handles for a customer, so I guess I get to touch new knives anyway

    The End Game Knife

Did… Long story short. Wrought iron with mostly 26C3 core steel. It’s a local guy I know who does the blacksmith part and I used to polish and do handles if needed.
