I have #9 of the original run of ten knives Devin made. It measures 259 x 51 mm. The dimensions and profile were essentially identical to the Tadatsuna wa-gyuto that was used as a model.
On another forum this is acceptable:
"Payment by US Postal Money Order or personal check if I know you, as I do not have PayPal".
This is very clear upfront that PayPal is not involved and it doesn't violate thie B/S/T guidelines.
Question to admins - is this acceptable, and if not, why?
So what I'm talking away from this is to just post a price, and when the prospective buyer wants a PayPal address, he's told "No, pay using (insert payment method)". Sounds like a sure fire way to get reported.
It says that posts need to comply with PayPal rules, which forbids asking for the buyer to pay the fee or for asking for F&F. If the post explicitly says "No PayPal", then how can the PayPal rules be violated?
Bottom line is that it appears that you can only sell on B/S/T if you have and use...
The problem is that a price without any disclaimers is likely to be assumed as PP G&S, and then bringing it up in the DM might appear "shady".
Looking for clarification from Dave or another admin.
What if someone does not have a PayPal account and doesn't want to get one? Will a B/S/T post specifying another payment method be reported? Asking for a friend.
Good morning and Happy New Year, Frank!
